About stopping smoking
Cigarette smoking, is one of the most talked about, studied and analysed of all human behaviors and habits - and yet most of what is generally accepted to be 'the known facts' about it, and more specifically stopping smoking, is actually nonsense! That's right - most of what you think you know about smoking cessation is just not true...
The media, driven by 'expert opinion' from the Medical Profession, tell us that people smoke because they are addicted to it, and that it is very difficult to give it up because of this. They talk about cravings, withdrawal symptoms, nicotine and habitual behaviour, in order to substantiate their 'addiction argument', and yet are unable to explain why 99% of smokers sleep soundly at night without the need to keep waking up for a cigarette? .... or why since the ban on smoking on commercial airliners 94% of polled smokers stated that they could fly long-haul for eight or ten hours without thinking or worrying AT ALL about smoking? (In fact, most smokers ONLY think about smoking once the pilot has announced their imminent arrival at their destination.. knowing they will be able to smoke again soon, the smoker starts to think about smoking again...)
In his research, Rob studied ALL the different methods and techniques of smoking cessation.. from 'cold turkey', to Zyban... from nicotine replacement therapy, to willpower... from placebo, to the Allen Carr method.. and what he discovered was AMAZING - and led him to perfecting his own method, based upon what he discovered...

A typical hour-long ‘stop smoking easily’ session, consists of a forty minute discussion, followed by a 20 minute hypnotherapy session. Smokers, ex-smokers and non-smokers.......
The key to the success of This Method, can be explained by differentiating the belief system of a smoker from and ex-smoker, and from a non-smoker.

A smokers belief system, is that of someone who thinks about smoking, who likes to smoke, who gets cravings to smoke, who gets withdrawal symptoms when he doesn't smoke, who associates with smokers, who worries about not being able to smoke.....
An ex-smokers belief system, is essentially the same as a smokers, but they don't actually smoke anymore... they still want to smoke, they still get cravings to smoke, they still think about smoking, they still feel 'withdrawal' from smoking, but they refrain from actually having one. In other words, an ex-smoker actually has a much harder life than a smoker, because they have all the negative symptoms associated with smoking, without the relaxing, rewarding pleasurable experience of actually smoking.
It's not surprising that the vast majority of ex-smokers end up going back to being smokers - sooner or later. (They are really just waiting for any excuse to go out and buy a packet!)
A non-smokers belief system, is totally different from the other two.
These people don't EVER think about smoking, they don't EVER worry about smoking, they don't EVER get withdrawal symptoms or cravings, they don't EVER fantasize about smoking, they don't ever miss smoking at all..... in fact, no thoughts about about smoking ever really come into their mind. They are indifferent to it. They couldn't care less about smoking - it means nothing to them. Using this Method, it is relatively easy to help you to change your belief system into that of a non-smoker.

Q: How much is a session?

Q: Do I need a ‘free initial consultation’ - to discuss my smoking problem?
A: No – it is unnecessary to have a pre-session meeting using this method. As long as (a) you want to stop smoking, (b) you are willing to change the way you think about smoking, and you are willing to put in some effort, you have a 95% chance of stopping with me, in just one session.
Q. Is every smoker suitable for this treatment?
A. Yes, unless they have a history of psychoses.
Q. Will I be 'under', or 'out of control' during the session?
A. No. You will be relaxed, in a very light state of hypnosis.....fully alert and fully in control at all times. You can speak, move, open your eyes or do anything else you would like to do.... you WILL NOT be in a 'stage hypnosis' type of trance - just a very light, relaxed state.
Q. Do you offer any sort of 'Guarantees', or 'money back if it doesn't work'?
No, I am not allowed to, and it wouldn’t be professional of me even if I could. YOU need to accept some responsibility for your smoking habit, and you need to put some effort in if you want to stop - nobody can do it for you. There is NO MAGIC to hypnosis or this method - it will HELP you to quit smoking but only if you help yourself at the same time. Where hypnotherapists do offer 'money back guarantees' or 'free back up sessions', they are probably being unethical, unprofessional and not helping you at all. This is because of one simple fact: some people will not stop smoking - regardless of how hard, or how often, they try.
Q. Why do you, and other hypnotherapists, charge more for a smoking cessation session, than other symptoms you treat?
A. A 'Rob Kelly Method' session, is the most involved type of hypnotherapy session that I run. It involves far more time, preparation, effort, skill, experience, character-assessment, insight and general hard-work, than any other symptom or condition that I treat. That is why it costs more. If you don't think stopping smoking would be worth the session fee I charge, then please read no further, for you are wasting your time!
Q. Why is your success rate (and the rate of other ‘Rob Kelly Method Practitioners’) SO MUCH HIGHER than most other ‘normal’ hypnotherapists?
A. A number of reasons really:
1. This method has been perfected over a 15 year period, and has stopped more than 10,000 smokers.
2. The session is run very differently to most other therapists, and focuses on very different topics
3. This method helps the client to change their BELIEF SYSTEM - to that of a NON-SMOKER... and as a non-smoker, it is very easy to stop smoking.
4. Most importantly of all...... This method doesn't approach stopping smoking from the same view point as 'normal' hypnotherapists.. Rob Kelly is primarily an analytical hypnotherapist by profession, and has taken many thousands of people through 'therapy'. Taking people through therapy gives (the therapist) tremendous insight into WHY we have habits, phobias and other symptoms.. Rob uses his insights into the unconscious motivations BEHIND smoking cessation, to eliminate the habit at at unconscious level, by helping you to change your belief system.
Q. What happens if I stop smoking, but start again in six months time?
A. This is very unlikely to happen, as when you stop smoking using this method, you change your belief system about smoking as well (Which means you become a 'non smoker) If you did go back to smoking, there would have to have been some huge stress in your life to precipitate it. Give me a call and I will speak with you about whether it was sensible to have another session. If we did have another session, another full session fee would be payable.
Q. Will I need gum, patches. placebos, zyban or anything else to help me?
A. No. Nothing.
Q. I have been to another hypnotherapist before and it didn't work - would it still be worth it coming to see you?

Q. Do I need to put in any effort?
A. Yes you do. There is NO MAGIC to this method - it is an AID to you, it will HELP YOU, but it WILL NOT do it for you. You need to pay attention during the session, you need to be honest during the session , and you need to put some effort into the session.
